You’re listening to the American Democracy Minute, keeping YOUR government by and for the people.

You may have heard us repeat the famous line from campaign finance reform activist “Granny D” Haddock:  “Democracy is not something we HAVE, it’s something we DO.”  Today we have a “User’s Guide” to the American Democracy Minute to help you DO Democracy.  

In addition to our 90-second report each day, we also give you tools on AmericanDemocracyMinute.org to dig deeper.  Read the script and follow links to the in depth articles and resources we use to write the story.  Whenever possible, we’ll provide articles from local news outlets and original source material. 

Occasionally, we’ll do an “explainer” series, like our recent series, “Shining a Light on Dark Money,” our reports on “democracy dollars” and “matching funds” campaign finance systems, or stories on how ranked choice voting works.   Like our news stories, we’ll always give you links to take a deep dive into the subject.
